Hi SLAAUK, i don't know if/when people read these forums, but as it seems to be the only way to contact the SLAA, it would be helpful if the information was updated so that it was accurate. As a newby, I went along to the Woburn Sands group again on the 14th but no-one turned up. it is looking like this group never got started after all, or it folded pretty quickly.I don't want to appear ungrateful, but i have been wrestling with my feelings and actions regarding relationships for some years, and felt very encouraged when i recently found out about the SLAA. I sat down, compiled a list of my thoughts and feelings, and in quite an anxious state about facing up to this with the SLAA, i drove 18 miles to the meeting - only to find that it did not happen. My emotions crashed somewhat. i pretty much went through the same emotional cycle again the following week in the hope that the meeting would happen, but it didn't. Do i put myself through this again 21st March 2010 or should i give up on the Woburn Sands group?Does any one know if the group at Toddington still meet (Tuesday's 1930-2030hrs)?

Thank you for your support and advice. With a high level of anxiety, i met the Toddington group 23rd March 2010. Immediately after the meeting, and for the next day or so, it felt like finally i had found some understanding of my behaviour, and that help was available. It was a revellation. 2 days afer the meeting, and for the next few days, that wonderous feeling of relief had worn off and i was fighting hard to resist urges to act out. I am looking forward to the Toddington meeting 30th March, and may attend the Hampstead meeting 2nd April.
Sorry to hear you've had a frustrating experience. There is a similar organisation which has an active meeting in Milton Keynes. If you are able to travel, then the Birmingham and Nottingham Slaa meetings are definitely active.

Is the Milton Keynes group meeting Sunday evenings at the Ellen Pettit memorial hall in Woburn Sands still running?I went along Sunday 7th March 2010 for 1645hrs and hung around till 2015hrs but no-one turned up. I would like to come along 14th March 2010.
New HOW meeting at Woburn Sands starts Sunday 27th September 7.00 - 8.00pm at Ellen Pettit Memorial Hall, 4 High Street, Woburn Sands, Milton Keynes, MK17 8RH. Woburn Sands is about 5 mins from junction 13 off the M1.
