Wish to start a new meeting in the Windsor/Henley/Reading area - any takers?

Hi there, I am a recovering love and relationship addict with a blessed recovery of @ 15 months (not without its completely bonkers moments of course). I am very keen to see if anyone would value starting a SLAA group with me in the Berkshire area somewhere like Windsor, Henley or Reading. I know there must be a good deal of us who travel to London or Farnham or Woking so hoping there is some support for starting one in this area. Hi Rachell and or any others out there. Im local, new to the site, and two months into recovery. Finding it hard to be honest and having good days and bad days. If there is a group and meetings then would be good to get involved. Yogi

If you've managed to set up a meeting, I'd be keen to join in - I've been in recovery for a couple of years working the steps (used to go to London meetings but it's a bit too far for me now. Dermot, hey, it only takes 2 to start a meeting so great that you are in the area and up for getting involved in a new group. It will be exciting to have a source of support in the area. I will look at getting the starter pack and also looking for venues too. Perhaps we can chat about it a bit further in a week or 2 and maybe I will have some progress by then. HiIf you are going to start a new group, remember that you are entitled to claim for 2 new basic texts - a bit like the SLAA bible - just telephone the info line & leave your details there and they will be posted to you.Good luck with everything, let us know how you get on

Hi Rachel, I'm not in your area but if you can't find anyone to start a group with you, or in the meantime, if you would like to chat on line or over the telephone to someone then I would really welcome that. I am also in recovery, female and feeling very isolated. I'm trying to fnd someone else to start a group in my area but no takers to help as yet. Anyway, just a thought. Thanks for reading.

Hello Selfsoother, so sorry you are struggling and feeling isolated. Absolutely up for a chat on the phone and sorry its taken a while to respond. My body caught up with my head and I got sick. Strange how our bodies try to talk to us but our addict heads put the fingers in the ears and go "la la la la". I haven't been on this site long so not sure how I email you my number or you get yours to me without posting it on the whole site. Need to figure that out so we can chat. Keep doing all the basics, I know I am coming through my hard time but allowing my friends in recovery hold the reins a bit for me so that I can do the right things for myself. Its a wonderful support network this fellowship so it would be lovely to connect with you. Hope to speak soonRachel :-)
